Em português, se temos a pergunta: Você gosta de salada de tomate?, podemos responder com Sim, gosto. ou Não, não gosto.

Em inglês é diferente, temos que dizer o que gostamos e usar um pronome para indicar. Veja alguns exemplos:

Do you like tomato salad? Yes, I like it.
Do you like Mariah Carey? No, I don’t like her very much.
Does Henry like to work out? Yes, he loves it.
Do you like The Beatles? Not really. I don’t like them very much.
Did you see that movie last night? No, I didn’t see it. I was sleepy so I went straight to bed.
