Un’estate italiana – An Italian Summer

Ciao a tutti!

Avete visto la partita? Did you see the game? Italy was victorious dai calci di rigore (from penalty kicks) against England to become the 2020 campione d’Europa (champions of Europe).

Complimenti agli azzurri! Congratulations to the blues!

While perusing la Repubblica reading news about the win of gli azzurri, I came across a few things I’d like to share. The first being the video of gli azzurri singing ‘notti magiche’ (magical nights), also known as ‘un’estate italiana.’

This song was created for the 1990 FIFA world cup held in Italy, and there are multiple versions in different languages.

Speaking of Italian summers, I also read an article about how gli azzurri are finally getting un po’ di relax after their long road to victory. They will be summering in Sardinia, Versilia, and Ibiza, to name a few places.
And lastly, I’d like to share a podcast I found on la Repubblica, conveniently called ‘un’estate italiana.’ It is described on the site as follows:

Da Stefania Auci a Valeria Parrella, da Michele Mari a Marco Malvaldi, alcuni tra i migliori autori e autrici italiani per accompagnarci durante le vacanze.
