There is a cute Japanese children’s song called Musunde Hiraite (むすんでひらい). Here is a video of the song. Note that the hand motions go along with the song.

むすんで (musunde) Clench the palms together

開い (hiraite) Open them

手を打っ (te o utte) Clap your hands together

また開い (mata hiraite) Open them again

手を打っ (te o utte) Clap your hands together

その手 (sono te o ue ni) Put these hands up

    I have heard a song that is to the musunde hiraite tune, except it teacher classroom instructions. Do you know the lyrics?

    thank you so much for posting this! we have Japanese story time at the local library and I couldn’t learn the songs just from hearing them, reading the lyrics makes it much easier.
