Part 2 of the Japanese Keiyoushi lesson is based on the ones that end with “Na (な)” These adjectives plays the same role as the ones I mentioned under Part1. However, the ending is always “Na(な)” rather than “I(い)”  when they are put before a noun. It might sound confusing, but more you use in actual sentences, the easier you will be able to identify which ending to use for a certain adjective.  Let’s get started!

 

 

静かな(しずかな、SHIZUKANA) – QUIET

静かな　部屋（しずかな　へや）－shizukana heya, Quiet room

私は、静かな部屋で勉強するのが好きです。（わたしは、しずかな　へやで　べんきょう　するのがすきです。）

– Watashiwa shizukana heyade bennkyo surunoga sukidesu. I like to study in quiet room.

簡単な(かんたんな、KANTANNA) – EASY

簡単な　ゲーム（かんたんな　ゲーム）－kantanna ge-mu, Easy game

私は、難しいゲームより　簡単なゲーム　の方が好きです。（わたしは、むずかしいゲームより　かんたんなゲームのほうが　すきです）。

-Watashiwa muzukashii ge-mu yori kantanna ge-mu nohouga sukidesu. I like easy games rather than hard ones.

 

 

親切な(しんせつな、SHINSETSUNA) – KIND

親切な　人（しんせつ　ひと）－shinsetsuna hito, Kind person

親切な人と友達になりたいです。（しんせつな　ひとと　ともだちに　なりたいです。）

-Shinsetsuna hitoto tomodachini naritai desu. I want to be friends with a kind person.

 

便利な(べんりな、BENRINA) – USEFUL

便利な　道具（べんりな　どうぐ）－benrina dougu, Useful tool

彼は便利な道具をたくさん持っている。（かれは　べんりな　どうぐを　たくさん　もっている。）

– Karewa benrina dougu o takusan motteiru. He has many useful tools.

 

危険な(きけんな、KIKENNA) – DANGEROUS

危険な　スポーツ（きけんな　スポーツ）－kikenna supo-tsu, Dangerous sports

危険なスポーツをするのは、やめなさい！（きけんな　スポーツをするのは、やめなさい！）

– Kikenna sports o surunowa yamenasai. Do not play dangerous sports!

 

有名な(きけんな、YOUMEINA) – FAMOUS

有名な　選手（ゆうめいな　せんしゅ）－yuumeina senshu, Famous player

有名な選手と握手をした。（ゆうめいな　せんしゅ　と　あくしゅをした。）

– Yumeina senshu to akushu o shita. I shook hands with a famous player.

 

安全な(あんぜんな、ANZENNA) – SAFE

安全な　道（あんぜんな　みち）－anzenna michi, safe route

私は、安全な道を通って家へ帰ります。（わたしは、あんぜんな　みちを　とおって　いえへかえります。）

-Watashiwa anzenna michi o tootte iee kaerimasu.  I go home through safe routes.

 

熱心な(ねっしんな、NESSHINNA) – SERIOUS

熱心な　医者（ねっしんな　いしゃ）－nesshinna isha, serious doctor

彼女はとても熱心な医者です。（かのじょは、とても　ねっしんな　いしゃです。）

-Kanojo wa totemo nesshinna isha desu. She is a very serious doctor.
