The lines from various poetry, literature, satire and epigrams from ancient Roman poets and writers are still quoted today. How well do you know your ancient Roman authors? Can you guess what some of the quotes mean and who said them?

(1)   “Orandum est ut sit mens sana in corpore sano

(2)  “Omnia vincit amor; et nos cedamus amori

(3)  “Per caputque pedesque

(4)  “Sera nimis vita est crastina. Vive hodie

(5)  “Homo sum: humani nil a me alienum puto

(6)  “Fas est et ab hoste doceri

(7)  “Exegi monumentum aere perennius

(8)  “Semper in absentes felicior aestus amantes

(9)  “Omnis cum in tenebris praesertim vita laboret
