So you met this beautiful girl/handsome guy in Poland (or from Poland). How do you invite him/her on a date? How is the conversation going to be during your first date? Or maybe you just saw someone at the party and you are a little shy, don’t know how to invite someone on a date or start conversation? This post may be a little helpful. Here are few phrases that may just be right for you!
May I join you? Czy mogę się do ciebie/do was dosiąść/przyłączyć?
May I buy you something to drink? Czy mogę ci kupić drinka?
Do you come here often? Często tu przychodzisz?
So, what do you do for a living? Czym się zajmujesz na co dzień?
Do you want to dance? Zatańczysz?
Would you like to get some fresh air? Chcesz się przewietrzyć?
Do you want to go to a different party? Chcesz iść na inną imprezę?
Let’s get out of here! Wynośmy się stąd!
My place or yours? Idziemy do mnie czy do ciebie?
Would you like to watch a movie at my place? Może obejrzymy u mnie film?
Do you have any plans for tonight? Masz plany na dzisiejszy wieczór?
Would you like to have lunch/dinner with me sometime? Mogę zaprosić cię kiedyś na lunch/kolację?
Would you like to go get a coffee? Może pójdziemy razem na kawę?
May I walk/drive you home? Mogę cię odprowadzić/odwieźć do domu?
Would you like to meet again? Spotkamy się jeszcze?
Thank you for a lovely evening! Have a great night! Dziękuję za przemiły wieczór! Dobranoc!
Do następnego razu… (Till next time…)

My name is Kasia Scontsas. I grew near Lublin, Poland and moved to Warsaw to study International Business. I have passion for languages: any languages! Currently I live in New Hampshire. I enjoy skiing, kayaking, biking and paddle boarding. My husband speaks a little Polish, but our daughters are fluent in it! I wanted to make sure that they can communicate with their Polish relatives in our native language. Teaching them Polish since they were born was the best thing I could have given them!
I have been writing about learning Polish language and culture for Transparent Language’s Polish Blog since 2010.
