The BBC reported this week that robbers pulled off an ingenious heist in Sao Paulo on Sunday, taking advantage of an afternoon of big soccer games to steal US$6 million.
Robbers dug an 100 meter-long tunnel under a cash delivery firm building, which took four months to achieve. They rented a place near the building and began the long process leading up to the final weekend of the Brazilian soccer championship.
While a guard heard noise during the break-in, he assumed it was fireworks being set off during the soccer game. The thieves got into the building without being discovered, and made a successful getaway.
