Olá, pessoal!

Let’s kick November off with some very interesting sentences to use when you’re at school. These sentences are very useful if you’re taking a course in a Portuguese-speaking country or if you want to improve your Portuguese in general.

O Aluno – The Student

Eu tenho uma pergunta sobre… – I have a question about…
Fiquei na dúvida sobre… – I’m still not clear on…
Tem carteira para canhotos? – Do you have a left-handed desk?
Quem você pegou para…? – Who do you have for…?
Não sei se estou na sala certa. – I don’t know if I’m in the right class.
Acho que preciso mudar para um nível acima/abaixo. – I think I need to move to a higher/lower level.
Gosto muito das suas aulas. – I really enjoy your classes.
Gostaria de conversar sobre mudar de turma. – I’d like to talk to you about changing classes.
Vai cair na prova? – Will we be tested on this?
Você pode escrever isso no quadro? – Could you write that on the board?
Desculpe, não estou enxergando o quadro. – I’m sorry, I can’t see the board.
Desculpe, tem um reflexo no quadro. – Excuse me, there’s a glare on the board.
Espere! Não apague isso ainda, por favor. – Wait! Don’t erase that yet, please.
Posso ver suas anotações? – Can I see your notes?
Você tem as anotações de ontem? – Do you have the notes from yesterday?
Não vou estar aqui para a prova. – I’m not going to be here for the test.
Posso fazer uma prova substitutiva? – Can I take a make up test?
Tenho que faltar amanhã. – I have to be absent tomorrow.
Tudo bem se eu sair mais cedo hoje? – I have to leave a little early today, is that all right?
Desculpa o atraso! – Sorry, I’m late!
Me empresta sua caneta? – Can I borrow your pen?
Em que página estamos? – What page are we on?
Desculpe. Não estava prestando atenção. – I’m sorry. I wasn’t paying attention.
Tive alguns problemas com a lição. – I had some problems with the homework.
Tenho uma pergunta sobre uma questão na prova. – I have a question about something on my test.
Podemos usar o dicionário na prova? – Can we use our diciotnaries for the test?

O Professor – The Teacher

Vai ter prova na sexta-feira. – There’s going to be a test on Friday.
A prova bimestral tem peso … na nota final. – The midterm test counts as … of your final grade.
Silêncio na prova. – There’s no talking during the test.
Sem colar! – No cheating!
Abram na página… – Turn to page…
Pulem até a página… – Skip ahead to page…
Pulem para o número… – Skip down to number…
Vocês devem estar todos na página… – You should all be on page…
Quem não tiver o livro divida com um colega. – If you don’t have a book then please share with another person.
Trabalhem em pares. – Get into pairs.
Trabalhem em grupos de 3. – Get into groups of 3.
Juntem-se em pares. – Find a partner. / Work with a partner.
Por favor, tente chegar na hora. – Please try to make it on time.
Dá para enxergar? – Can everyone see OK?
Tudo bem atá agora? – OK so far?
Alguma dúvida? – Any questions?
Vamos fazer um intervalinho? – Shall we stop for a quick break?
Alguém tinha alguma pergunta sobre a lição de casa? – Were there any questions about the homework?
Alguém levantou a mão? – Did some have their hand up?
