¡Hola!

This is the fifth interactive review lesson in this new Spanish course.

In today’s lesson we will practice the alphabet in Spanish and how to spell in Spanish.

This can be very useful when someone asks you your full name and doesn´t know how to spell it or when you ask for something, maybe directions, and you need to know how to spell the name of some streets to be able to find them on your map.

Answers to all tasks involved in this lesson will be given at the end of the post and also at the end of the video and you can also follow a link with this post to watch the original theory video lesson.

*I recommend that you watch the video a few times without looking at the written notes below or any of the answers*

1. Firstly, please, answer the following questions:

How do you ask someone to spell their first name in a friendly way?
How do you ask someone to spell their surname in a formal way?

2. Next, I will now say a few names and I would like you to spell them in Spanish. For example: “Robert”: R O B E R T:

¿Cómo se escribe “Patricia”?
¿Cómo se escribe “David”?
¿Cómo se escribe “William”?
¿Cómo se escribe “Elizabeth”?
¿Cómo se escribe “Heather”?
¿Cómo se escribe “Simon”?
¿Cómo se escribe “Oscar”?
¿Cómo se escribe “Margaret”?
¿Cómo se escribe “Olivia”?
¿Cómo se escribe “James”?

3. Finally, I will spell some Spanish words and I would like you to write down the words you hear:
