Beyoncé en español Posted by on Aug 13, 2010 in Spanish Culture

Singing in other languages than your own is not always an easy task. However, bombshell Beyoncé has managed to cover such territory with Mexican heartthrob Alejandro Fernández by recording the song Amor Gitano (Gypsy Love) for the soundtrack of Latin soap opera El Zorro – La Espada y la Rosa. Check out the audio and the lyrics with the translation below.

Ven y quédate conmigo. Dame el corazón.
Come and stay with me. Give me your heart.

My life, I’m dying slowly in mi prison

Come on, tell me what you feel, don’t be shy

And stop suffering, run away with my love

Después te llevaré hasta donde quieras
Afterwards I’ll take you wherever you want

No fear and no borders as far as where the sun comes up

With you I’m capable of everything, come what may

Porque ya sé a donde voy.
Because I know where I’m going

I’m your gypsy, your pilgrim, the only key to your destiny

The one who cares for you more than for his own life, I’m your thief

Soy tu gitana, tu compañera
I’m your gypsy, your partner

The one who follows you, who waits for you

Voy a quererte aunque me saquen el corazón.
I’m going to love you even if they take away my heart

Y aunque nos cueste la vida
Even if it costs us our lives

Y aunque duela lo que duela
No matter how much it hurts

Esta guerra la ha ganado nuestro amor
Our love has won this war

Esta guerra la ha ganado nuestro amor
Our love has won this war

I was born for your eyes, for nobody else

Siempre voy a estar en tu camino
I’m always going to be on your way

Alma de mi alma, corazón de tempestad
Soul of my soul, heart of storm

Dime por dónde ir.
Tell me where to go

Nos vemos prontito.
