In this Spanish lesson we are going to practice talking about Hotels in Spanish. First we will learn some relevant vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short audio conversation in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times.

Recepcionista: Buenas tardes señora.
Huésped: Buenas tardes. Me gustaría hablar con su gerente.
Recepcionista: ¿Hay algún problema señora?
Huésped: Sí, lo hay. Estoy segura de que está acostumbrado a escuchar los problemas de los huéspedes. ¡Este hotel es una vergüenza!
Recepcionista: Lamento mucho que se sienta así. Por favor, explíqueme qué le molesta y encontraré una solución.
Huésped: Supongo que sabe lo de la alarma de incendios a las tres de la madrugada.
Recepcionista: Sí.
Huésped: ¡¿Por qué diablos hacéis simulacros de incendio a las tres de la madrugada?! He tenido reuniones y presentaciones importantes toda la mañana y he estado extremadamente cansada.
Recepcionista: Lo siento mucho. Todos los hoteles deben practicar para los incendios.
Huésped: ¡Y mi habitación! ¡A ver, por dónde empiezo con mi repugnante habitación! El servicio de limpieza no ha aparecido en tres días. No hay toallas limpias. No hay papel higiénico. Mi televisor no funciona y no lo ha hecho desde que llegué. Aunque lo informé a mi llegada.
Recepcionista: Por favor acepte mis disculpas. Encontraré la solución ahora mismo.
Huésped: Hace cuarenta grados afuera y mi aire acondicionado es patético. Ya he pedido cuatro veces cambiar de habitación. Ahora quiero irme. Con reembolso completo. Nunca me he alojado en un hotel peor.
Recepcionista: Tendré que hablar con mi jefe sobre esto señora.
Huésped: Sí, vale, espero aquí.
Recepcionista: Lo siento, tendrá que esperar un poco más porque hoy está jugando al golf.
Huésped: ¡Dios mío! ¿No tiene vergüenza? ¡¿Cómo puede alguien relajarse cuando su negocio es un desastre total?!
Recepcionista: Regresará al hotel el jueves.
Huésped: Olvídalo. Me voy en diez minutos. Pagaré mi factura, pero me gustaría que su gerente me llamara para concertar un reembolso el jueves.
Recepcionista: Muy bien señora.
