Today we are going to practice how to talk about things we did in the past using the Past Simple in Spanish El Pretérito Indefinido.

Practice using The Past Simple in Spanish El Pretérito Indefinido
1. First, let´s practice conjugating some regular Spanish verbs with the Past Simple in Spanish El Pretérito Indefinido. I will say a person (yo, tú, usted etc) and a regular verb and I would like you to conjugate the verb in the correct way for El Pretérito Indefinido: (For example: Ellos / comprar: Compraron)
Nosotros / comer
Tú / hablar
Ellas / escribir
Ustedes / trabajar
Ella / beber
Vosotros / comprender
Él / salir
Ellos / amar
Yo / correr
Usted / encontrar
2. We will practice now some useful Spanish vocabulary related to describing time. These words and phrases are all commonly used with the Past Simple in Spanish El Pretérito Indefinido. Please tell me what the following things mean:
Ayer
El otro día
En 1983
Anoche
El año pasado
Hace un mes
El viernes pasado
Anteayer
Anteanoche
La semana pasada
En septiembre
3. Next, let´s practice some irregular Spanish verbs and El Pretérito Indefinido. I will say a person (yo, tú, usted, etc) and an irregular verb and I would like you to conjugate the verb in the correct way for the El Pretérito Indefinido: (For example: Nosotros / decir: Dijimos)

4. Do you understand what these Spanish sentences mean?
Ayer fuimos a la playa.

¿Estuvisteis en Barcelona el año pasado?
5. Finally, please translate the following sentences from English to Spanish:
Sonia bought a car last month.
I had a cold last week.
Carlos worked the day before yesterday.
We went to my parents´ house last weekend.
I didn´t eat much yesterday.
Esto es todo por la clase de hoy.
This Spanish grammar tense is very important, so make sure you remember well the verb endings and the important irregular verbs we have practiced in this class. It is a good idea to watch the original theory video lesson various times in order to memorise all of the endings. It can be a bit boring at first, but when you know them well, you will realize how much more you can say in Spanish.
