The pronombre complemento can come:

1. After the verb – this is called énclisis.

Llámame a las ocho.

In the case above the verb and the pronoun are written together.

Attention!

The pronombre complement always comes after verbs:

– in the gerund:
Estoy escribiéndole una carta. – Estoy escribiéndosela.

– in the infinitive:
Voy a comprarte el disco. – Voy a comprártelo.

– in the affirmative imperative:
Tráigame el libro. – Tráigamelo.

2. Before the verb – this is called próclisis.

Te llamaré a las ocho.

The pronombre complemento comes after the verb in all other verb tenses.

– in the futuro de indicativo:
Te escribiré una carta. – Te la escribiré.

– in presente de subjuntivo:
Tal vez te compre el disco. – Tal vez te lo compre.

– in the negative imperative:
No me traiga el libro. – No me lo traiga.
