As a beginner, it is very important to quickly build up a vocabulary. Even if your grammar is entirely wrong, you can still get concepts across better if you know more words. The best vocabulary to start off with is words that are very commonly used – meaning they are very important giving you a lot of immediate practice. The most commonly used nouns are things you typically find around you, such as in your room or home or office.

How to practice: Since you see these things every day, try and remember as many as you can when you’re sitting at the kitchen table eating your breakfast or whatever. Or even prepare stickers and attach the names to the actual items – whatever works for you. Memorizing about 10 words per day is an easy acceptable learning rate.
