We recently posted some Thai fruit vocabulary, so we might as well cover vegetables (ผัก – pàk) next. Here are 25 vegetables in English and Thai. Study them and try to do your grocery shopping in Thai next time!

  • tomato (มะเขือเทศ – má-kĕua tâyt)

  • lettuce (ผัก กาดหอม – pàk gàat hŏm)

  • onion (หอม หัวใหญ่ – hŏm hŭa yài)

  • spinach (ผักขม – pàk kŏm)

  • cucumber (แตงกวา – dtaeng-gwaa)

  • potato (มันฝรั่ง – man fà-ràng)

  • sweet potato (มัน เทศ – man tâyt)

  • broccoli (บร็อคโคลี่ – BRÁWK-KO-LÊE)

  • cauliflower (กะหล่ำดอก – gà-làm dòk)

  • beans (ถั่ว – tùa)

  • mushroom (เห็ด – hèt)

  • corn (ข้าว โพด – kâao pôht)

  • garlic (กระเทียม – grà tiam)

  • carrot (แครอท – kae-rôt)

  • pumpkin (ฟัก ทอง – fák tong)

  • asparagus (หน่อไม้ฝรั่ง – nòr máai fà-ràng)

  • shallot (หอม เล็ก – hŏm lék)

  • morning glory (ผักบุ้ง – pàk bûng)

  • chilli (พริก – prík)

  • lemongrass (ตะไคร้ – dtà-krái)

  • cabbage (กะหล่ำปลี – gà-làm bplee)

  • ginger (ขิง – kĭng)

  • bamboo shoots  (หน่อไม้ – nòr máai)

  • watercress (ผักน้ำ – pàk nám)

  • eggplant (มะเขือยาว – má-kĕua yaao)
