Marhaba! Building on part one of the ‘10 Most interesting facts about the U.S. Elections in Arabic,’ today I focus on 10 additional facts about these upcoming elections. Given that almost every media outlet in different corners of the world are focusing on the Presidential Elections in the United States, I want you dear Arabic lovers to learn more about these very important elections in Arabic! I have translated and transliterated these facts about the elections. I always want you dear Arabic lovers to be able to discuss the most compelling news in Arabic! Make sure to learn one or all of these facts and you can always practice with your Arabic speaking friend, neighbor, or colleague. Enjoy!
1) The Democratic Party tagline is: Moving America Forward.
شعار الحزب الديمقراطي: تحريك أميركا الى الامام
Shi‘ar al-hizb al-dimuqrati: tahrik amerika ila al-amam.
2) The Republican Party’s tagline is: We Believe in America.
شعار الحزب الجمهوري: نؤمن بأميركا
Shi‘ar al-hizb al-jumhuri: nu’min bi-america.
3)American voters do not directly vote for the President.
الناخبون الاميركان لا ينتخبون الرئيس مباشرة
Al-nakhibun al-amerikiyun la yantakhibun al-ra’is mubasharatan.
4) The Presidential nominee for the Democratic Party is Hillary Clinton.
المرشحة الرئاسية للحزب الديمقراطي هي هيلاري كلينتون
Al-murashaha al-ri’asiya lil-hizb al-dimuqrati hiya Hillary Clinton.
5) The Presidential nominee for the Republican Party is Donald Trump.
المرشح الرئاسي للحزب الجمهوري هو دونالد ترمب
Al-murashah al-ri’asi lil-hizb al-jumhuri huwa Donald Trump.
