David:
Jese, please can you help me to count in Arabic.
As per below, so far I think I understand these 4 ways to count a noun-object.
However, is my understanding correct ?
a) Indefinite – `iDaafah “three books”: ثَلاثَةُ كُتُبٍ tha-lA-thah (tu) ku-tub (in)
b) Indefinite – tam-yiiz “thirteen books”: كِتَاباً عَشَرَ ثَلاثَةَ tha-lA-tha 9a-sha-r(a) ki-tA-b(an)
c) Definite – number as adjective “The three books”: الثَلاثَةُ الكُتُبُ al ku-tub (u) al tha-lA-thah (u)
d) Definite – based on `iDaafah “The three books”: ثَلاثَةُ الكُتُبٍ tha-lA-thah (tu) al ku-tub (in)
