اِقــرأ الـقـطــعــة الـتــالــيـــة ثــم أجـــب عـــن الأســئــلـــــــة

Read the Following passage and then answer the questions:   

إنَّ عـــذاب الإنــســــان الأكــبـــر هــو الــفــقـــر , و لـكــنَّ الـفـقــر لـيــس نـاتـجــاً مـن سـُــوء تــوزيــع الـثــروة فـحـســب , و لـكـنــه نـاتــج مـن سـُــوء تــوزيــع الإنـســانــيـــة . و يـظـهــر ذلـك واضـحــاً فـي عـالـمـنــا الـحـديــث حـيــن نــرى أنّ مـُــشــكـلــة الـفـقـــر قـــد تـجــاوزت نـطـــاق الأفــراد و وصـلــت إلـى نـطـــاق الأمـم . فـالـصـِّــراعُ الآنَ لـيــس بـيــن طـبـقـتـيـــن مـن الـنــاس , بـَــل إنــه بـيــن طـبـقـتـيــن مـن الــدول : هـُـمـَــا الـدول الـغـنـيــة و الــدول الـفـقــيـــرة . و خـطـيـئــة الـفــقـــر الأولـى هـي أنـه يـَــحــرِمُ الـحـيــاة مـن مـعـنــاهـــا . فــواجــبُ الإنـســان أن يـجـعـــلَ حـيــاتــه الـقـصـيــرة عـلــى الأرض مـُــثـمِـــرة و هــذا لا يـتـحـقــق إلّا إذا أصـبـــح الإنـســان إنـســانــاً 

 

  الـعــذاب الأكــبــر لـلإنــســــان هــُــو الــفــقــــر  

1) The biggest torture of man is poverty.

  أسـبــاب الـفــقـــر هــي ســُــوء تــوزيــع الــثــروة و ســُــوء تــوزيــع الإنـســانــيــــــــــة  

2) The reasons for poverty are the bad distribution of wealth and humanity.  

  وصـلــت مـشـكـلــة الـفـقــــر إلــى نِــطـــاق الأمــم  

3) The poverty problem reached the level of nations.  

  الــدول الـتـي بـيـنــهـــا صـِــراع الآن هــي الــدول الــغــنــيــــة و الــدول الــفــقـــيــــرة  

4) The countries that are in conflict now are the rich and the poor countries.  

  يــجــعـــل الإنـســـانُ حـيــاتــَــه مــُـــثــمــِــــرة إذا أصــبــــح إنــســـانـــاً  

5) Man makes his life productive if he becomes a human.  

  مـُــضــاد كـلـمــة “الأكــبــر” هــو كـلــمــة ” الأصــغــــر”

6) – The opposite of the word “the biggest” is “the smallest”

   و مضاد كلمة “الـحــديــث” هــو كـلـمة “الـقــديــــم”  

     – The opposite of the word “modern” is the word “old”

   جـمــع كـلـمـة “صــِــراع” هــو كـلـمــة “صــِــراعــَــات”

7) – The Plural of the word “conflict” is “conflicts”

   و جــمــع كـلــمـــة “إنـســان” هــو نــاس  

     – The plural of the word; “man” is “people”

   مـُــرادف كـلـمـة “خـطـيـئـــة” هــو ذنــب

8 ) – The synonym of the word “fault” is ‘sin”

  و مرادف كلمة “مــُــثــمـِـــرة” هــو  مــُــفــيـــدة

     – The synonym of the word; “productive” is; “useful”

10) Translation of the whole passage into English.

      The biggest torture of man is poverty, but poverty is not only the result of bad distribution of wealth, but also the result of bad distribution of humanity. This appears clear in our modern world when we see that the poverty problem has exceeded the level of individuals and reached the level f nations. Conflict now is not between two classes of people, but rather between two classes of countries; the rich countries and the poor ones. And the biggest sin of poverty is that it deprives life from its meaning. The duty of man is make his short life on earth productive and this can not be achieved unless man becomes human.
