In the previous post, I presented exercises on the relative pronouns (الأسماء الموصولة) in Arabic.

الذي  = this (sing. masc.)

التي = this (sing. fem.)

اللذان = these (dual. masc. nom.)

اللذين= these (dual. masc. acc./gen.)

اللتان = these (dual. fem. nom.)

اللتين = these (dual. fem. acc./gen.)

الذين = these (plur. masc.)

اللاتي = these (plur. fem.)

Here is the answer of the exercise:

1. هل تعرف البنت التي تسكن في هذه الغرفة؟

2. هذه هي المدن الجميلة التي أريد أن أسافر إليها.

3. الطلاب الذين سيسافرون إلى الشرق الأوسط في الصيف محظوظون.

4. هل تعرف الطبيبين اللذين أجريا العملية الجراحية؟

5. هذان هما القميصان اللذان اشتريتهما الأسبوع الماضي.

6. البنايتان اللتان يرجع تاريخهما إلى العصور الوسطى جميلتان.

7. رأيت اللوحتين اللتين تم بيعهما بسعر عالٍ جداً.

8. هل تعرف اسم الكاتب الذي  ألف هذه الرواية؟

9. المهندسات اللاتي نفذن المشروع أمريكيات من أصل عربي.

And here is the translation of the sentences:

1. Do you know the girl who lives in this room?

2. These are the beautiful cities that I wish to visit.

3. The students who are travelling to the Middle East in the summer are lucky.

4. Do you know the doctors who performed the operation?

5. These are the shirts that I bought last week.

6. The buildings that date back to the Middle Ages are beautiful.

7. I saw the paintings that were sold for a very high price.

8. Do you know the name of the author who wrote this novel?

9. The engineers who carried out the project are American of Arab descent.

10. Who opened the window?
