Today, we’re going to learn about a unique city مدينة مميّزة in Libya, called تُسَمَّى بِـ Ghadames غْدَامِسْ. It’s a Berber town مدينة أمازيغية  and is located in the Northwest of Libya وتقع في شمال غرب ليبيا. It’s unique because the town stands in an oasis واحة, in the middle في وسط the desert الصحراء and it’s considered a world heritage site موقع تراث عالمي by UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) منظمة الأمم المتحدة للتربية والعلم الثقافة. It also has a nickname لَقَبْ/اسم شُهرَة ,which we will learn about in this post.

تعتبر غدامس من أقدم المدن الصحراوية في العالم

تقع في أقصى غرب ليبيا، على الحدود مع تونس والجزائر

يسمونها لؤلؤة الصحراء

واحة نخيل وسط صحراء قاحلة

يسكنها الأمازيغ والطوارق

عُرِفَت قديمًا بمدينة القوافل

كونها تقع على الخط التجاري بين شمال وجنوب الصحراء الكبرى

اسم “غدامس” أطلقه الرومان على الواحة، ويعني: بلد الجلود

المنحوتات والأدوات الحجرية البدائية التي يعرضها متحف غدامس.. شاهدة على حضور الإنسان في المدينة

منذ حوالي عشرة آلاف سنة

زائر غدامس ينبهر بالمدينة العتيقة: هندسة معمارية فريدة من نوعها

شبكة ممرات تحت الأرض – بيوت متلاصقة أشبه بخلية نحل

بُنِيَت من الحجارة والطين وجذوع النخل

لكل بيت طابق أرضي لتخزين المؤونة، مع طابق أول لسكن العائلة

وسطح منفتح على باقي الأسطح المجاورة

صُنِّفَت المدينة العتيقة سنة  ١٩٨٦ تراثًا عالميًا من قبل منظمة اليونسكو
