Lebanese Tabboule Recipe وصفة التبولة اللبنانية Posted by Anastasia on Feb 28, 2019 in Culture, Vocabulary
Food is one of the most important pillars of our culture. Everything in our life revolves around food and hospitality. Tabboule has been our most celebrated dish since forever! It’s a super fresh, green salad with a lemony twist and crushed wheat. It’s packed with vitamins and minerals and is very healthy! I would suggest it with a plate of Hummus on the side. YUM
This is the recipe to my tayta’s(Grandmother’s) tabboule (which is the most amazing thing in the entire universe) :
INGREDIENTS : المكونات
- 1/2 cup of fine bulgur برغل ناعم
- 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil زيت زيتون
- 3 cups of finely chopped fresh parsley بقدونس
- 1/2 cup of finely chopped fresh mint نعنع
- 2 medium size tomatoes, cut into small cubes بندورة
- 1 large onion finely chopped بصل
- 3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice عصير حامض
- 1 teaspoon of salt ملح
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper فلفل أسود
PREPARATION : طريقة التحضير
Soak 1/2 cup of bulgur in room temperature water and let sit for 15 mins. Meanwhile, finely chop 3 cups of parsley and 1/2 cup of mint then put them all together in a bowl. Once the herbs are done, cut 2 medium size tomatoes and 1 large onion into very small fine pieces and add to the bowl. The bulgur should be done by now and you can add it to the bowl but only after removing excess water. Add olive oil, salt and pepper either like the ingredients mentioned above or depending on your taste.
