اســم الــراعــي هــو “ســعــيــد”.       

1) The name of the shepherd is “Sa’eid”.

عــدد قــطــيــع الــضــأن الــمــســئــول عــنــه الــراعــي و أخــيــه هــو أكــثــر مــن ثــلاثــمــائــة رأس مــن الــضــأن.    

2) The shepherd and his brother are responsible for more than three-hundred heads of sheep.

الــمــكــونــات الــرئــيــســيــة لــغــذاء (طــعــام) الــرُّعــاة هــى الــذُّرة ، و مــنــتــجــات الــضــأن أهــمــهــا الــلــبــن.  

3) The major ingredients of the shepherds’ food are corn and sheep products with milk being the most important.

يــتــمُّ إعــداد غــذاء (طــعــام) الــرُّعــاة بــطــريــقــة خــاصــة ؛ يــُــخــلــط فــيــهــا بــطــحــيــن حــبــوب الــدُّخــن ، ثــم يــُــوضــَــع عــلــى الــرمــال تــحــت الــنــار.   

4) The shepherds’ food is prepared in a special way where it is mixed with the millet flour and then put on sand under fire.

اســم هــذهِ الــوجــبــة (الأكــلــة) الــمــفــضــلة هــو “حــلــيــبــيــن” أو “لــبــنــيــن”.  

5) The name of this favorite meal (food) is “Haleebeen” or “Labaneen”.

تــعــود قــطــعــان الــضــأن مــن رعــيــهــا يــومــيــاً قــبــل مــغــيــب الــشــمــس.  

6) The sheep come back from its shepherding before sunset every day.

الــحــدث الــهــام الــذي تــعــود مــن أجــلــهِ الــضــأن (الأغــنــام) هــو لــقــاء صــغــارهــا لإرضــاعــهــم.

7) The special event that the sheep come back for is to meet its young to feed them.

تــتــمــيــز الــضــأن الــحــمــري عــن غــيــرهــا بــأنــهــا أفــضــل الــســُّــلالات و أشــهــرهــا فــى الــســودان و أكــبــرهــا قــدرة عــلــى الــمــنــافــســة فــى الأســواق الــعــالــمــيــة. 

8) The Hamri sheep are distinguished than others because they are the best species, the most famous in Sudan and the most capable to compete in the international markets.

تــمــثــل حــيــاة الــرعــى بــالــنــســبــة لــلــمــُــلّاك و الــرُّعــاة مــتــعــة الــحــيــاة الــتــي تــعــتــمــد عــلــى الــطــبــيــعــة بــعــيــداً عــن صــخــب الــمــديــنــة.  

9) The life of shepherding represents – to the owners and the shepherds – the pleasure of life that depends on nature away from the noise of the city.

اِســتــمــِــع مــرة ثــانــيــة و أكــمــِــلْ الــعــِــبــَــارة الــتــالــيــة:

10) Listen again and complete the following sentence:

“أكــمــلَ ســعــيــد إســتــعــدادهُ لــهــذا الــصــبــاح ، و هــو الــمــســئول عــن رعــايــة قــطــيــع مــن الــضــأن يــزيــد عــددهُ عــن ثــلاثــمــائــة رأس ، يــرعــاهــا هــو و أخــوه بــالــتــنــاوب ، فــي مـُــهــِــمــَّــةٍ وصــفــهــا بــالــشــاقــة.”

“Sa’eid finished getting ready for this morning, as he is responsible interchangeably with his brother for taking care of a herd of sheep with more than three-hundred heads, in a mission that he describes as hard.”

تــَـــرجــَــمــة الــجــُــمــْــلــة إلــى الــلــغــة الإنــجــلــيــزيــة:

11) Translation of the sentence into English:

“رُغــمَ الــمــعــانــاة فــى تــربــيــة الــضــأنِ ، إلّا أنَّ الأمــر بــالــنــســبــة لأصــحــابــهــا و رُعــاتــهــا مــُــتــعــة الــحــيــاة الــتــي تــعــتــمــد عــلــى الــطــبــيــعــة ، بــعــيــداً عــن صــخــب الــمــديــنــة.”

“Despite the suffering in sheep-raising, it is – for the owners and the shepherds – a life pleasure that depends on nature away from the city noise.”
