Ahlan أهـــلاً , Arabic lovers! I wonder what you have done in the last listening comprehension exercise. We have listened to Dr Hanada Taha talking about the love of the Arabic language and today, In Sha’a Allah إن شاء الله , I will present the answers.

 الإجــَـــابــَـــات Answers

مــفــتـــاح الــفـِــكــْــر هــُـــو الــلــُّـــغـــَـــة      

1) The key to thought is language.

الـشـَـىءُ الــذى أوقـــع الــدكــتــــورة هــنـــادا فــى حــُــبّ الــتــعــلـــيـــم هــُــو الــلــَّــغــَـــة الــعــَــربــيــَّـــة  

2) The Arabic language made Dr Hanada love learning.

الــشــىءُ الــســـاحــِــرُ الــذى يــمــــيــز الــتــعــلــيـــم الجيد هــُــو أنــَّــهُ يــُــشــَـــكــّــل و يــَــخـــْــلــُـــق و يــَــبــْــنــِــى جــِـــيــلاً و عـــُـــقــــُـــولاً و فــِـــكــْـــراً  

3) The fascinating thing that distinguishes good education is that it forms, creates and builds a generation, minds and thought.

تــَــرى الــدكــتـــورة هــنــادا فــى تــعــلــيـــم الـلــغــة الــعـــربــيــــة شــَــىء ســعــيـد و مــُـــشــرق ، يــَـــبــْــعــَــث عــَــلــى الأمــَـــل و هــو أيــضــاً ســـبــب حــُــبـهــا لـهــذهِ الـلـغــة 

4) Dr Hanada thinks of learning Arabic as a happy and bright thing which generates hope and this is also the reason she loves it.

أكــمــِــل الــعــبــارة الــتـــالــيــة بــحـــروف الــجـــر الــصــحــيــحـــة :

“الـلــغــة هــى الــتــى تــعـــكــِــسُ مـــَــــنْ نـحــنُ ، و مـاذا نــُــريــدُ أنْ نــقــُـــول و مـا نـحــنُ و إلـى أيــْــنَ نــَــحــنُ”

5) Complete the following sentence with the correct preposition:

6) The plural of the word: “حـقــيــقــة” (= fact) is “حــَـــقــَـــائــِـــق”

The plural of the word: “شــىء” (= thing) is “أشـــْـــيـــَـــاءْ”

مـــُـــفــــرد كــَــلــِــمــَــة : “ الأطــفــَــال ” هــُــو “طــِــفــْــل”

مـــُـــفــــرد كــَــلــِــمــَــة : “ الـــكــِـــبـــَـــار ” هــُــو “كــَــبــيــر”

مـــُـــفــــرد كــَــلــِــمــَــة : “ مــَــنــَـــاحــِــى ” هــُــو “مــَــنــْــحــَــى”  

7) The singular of the word: “الأطــفــَــال” (= children) is “طــِــفــْــل”

The singular of the word: “الـــكــِـــبـــَـــار” (= adults) is “كــَــبــيــر”

The singular of the word: “مــَــنــَـــاحــِــى” (= directions) is “مــَــنــْــحــَــى”

مــُــرادِف كــَــلــِــمــَــة : “إلــهــَـــام” هــُـــو “وَحــْـــى”

مــُــرادِف كــَــلــِــمــَــة : “مــُــصــَــادَفــَـــة” هــُـــو “دُونَ قــَـــصــْـــد”

مــُــرادِف كــَــلــِــمــَــة : ” إبــتــِــكــَـــار” هــُـــو “إخــْــتــِــراع”

8) The synonym of the word: ” إلــهــَـــام” (= revelation) is “ وَحــْـــى ”

The synonym of the word: ” مــُــصــَــادَفــَـــة” (= coincidence) is “دُونَ قــَـــصــْـــد”

The synonym of the word: ” إبــتــِــكــَـــار” (= innovation) is “إخــْــتــِــراع”

الأفــْــعــَـــال الــمـُــضــَــارِعــَـــة هــِــىَ : “أُحــِـــبُّ” ، و “تــَــرَىِّ” ، و “تــَــخــْــلــُــقــِــيــن” ، “يــَــكــْــتــَــشــِــفْ”

الأفــْــعــَـــال الـمــَــاضــِــيــَـــة هــِـــىَ : “كــَــانَ” ، “أَوْقــَــعــَـــتــْــنى” ، “أَشــْــرَقَ”  

9) The present verbs are: : “أُحــِـــبُّ” = I love ,  “تــَــرَىِّ” = you see , “تــَــخــْــلــُــقــِــيــن” = you create , “يــَــكــْــتــَــشــِــفْ” = he discovers.  

The past verbs are :  “كــَــانَ” = was , “أَوْقــَــعــَـــتــْــنى” = made me fall , “أَشــْــرَقَ” = shone

تــرْجــِــْم الـجــُــمـْــلــَــة الـتــَّــالـِـيــَـة إلـى اللـغــة الإنـجــلـيــزيـة :

10) Translate the following sentence into English:

“ فـالــحــقــيــقـــة ذِهــَــابـى إلـى الـتــعــلــيــم كــان مــُــصــَــادَفــَـــة و لـكــن الـلــغــة الــعـــربـيــة هــى الـتـى أوقـعــتــنـى فـى حـُــبّ الــتــعــلــيــم ”

“In fact, my going to learning was a coincidence but the Arabic language was the reason I fell in love with education”
