Ahlan Arabic lovers! Today was a special and exceptional day for astronomy scientists and for some people who are interested in the astronomical phenomenon. The day witnessed a total eclipse of the sun in some areas. In this post, I present the answers to the Listening Comprehension Exercise: “Today’s Phenomenon”. الإجــابـــات Answers

الــظــاهــرة الــفــلــكــيــة الــتــى يــتــحــدَّث الــفــيــديـــو عــنــهــا هــى ظــاهــرة كــُــســوف الــشــمــس       

1) The astronomical phenomenon the video talks about is the eclipse of the sun.

الــمــنــاطــق الـتــى يــُــمــكــن رؤيــة هــذه الــظــاهــرة مــنــهــا هــى شــمــال أفــريــقــيــا و أوروبــا و شــمــال آســيــا   

2) The areas of the world the phenomenon can be seen are North Africa, Europe and North Asia.

الــدولــة الــتــى ســتــشــهــد 90% من هذه الــظــاهــرة هــى اســكــتــلــنــدا  

3) The country that will witness 90% of this phenomenon is Scotland.

تــثــيــر هــذه الــظــاهــرة حــمــاسَ الــعــلــمــاءِ لأنــهــا تــُــمــَــكــّــنــهــم مــن دراســة و مــتــابــعــة الــغــلاف الــجــوى الــمــحــيــط بــالــشــمــس

4) This phenomenon evokes the enthusiasm of scientists because it enables them to study and follow the atmosphere surrounding the sun.

يــمــكــن مــشــاهــدة هــذه الــظــاهــرة بــطــريــقــة آمــنــة عــن طــريــق نــظــارات خــاصــة  

5) This phenomenon can be seen safely by using special sunglasses.

 تــمــثــلُ هــذه الــظــاهــرة تــحــديــًا لــبــعــض الــدول الــتــى تــعــتــمــد عــلــى الــشــمــس فــى تــولــيــد الــطــاقــة (الــكــهــربــاء) مــثــل دولــة ألــمــانــيــا  

6) This phenomenon will be a challenge for the countries that depend on the sun to generate energy (electricity) like Germany.

تــعــتــبــر ألــمــانــيــا فــى وقــت حــرج لأن ضــوء الــشــمــس ســيــنــقــطــع عــنــهــا لــمــدة ســاعــتــيــن

7) Germany considers itself in a critical time because the light from the sun will go off for two hours.

هــذه هــى الــمــَــرّة الــعــاشــرة الــتــى تـتــكــرر فــيــهــا هــذه الــظــاهــرة فــى الــقــرن الــحــادى و الــعــشــريــن

8) This is the tenth time that this phenomenon takes place in the 21^st. century.

ســوف تــتــكــرر هــذه الــظــاهــرة مرة أخــرى بــعــد أحــد عــشــر عــامــاً – أى فــى عــام 2026   

9) This phenomenon will be repeated again after eleven years – that means in 2026.
