It’s So Stupendous, Riding the Beijing Tube Posted by on Aug 9, 2010 in Culture, Uncategorized

To go along with Steve’s post about riding the 地铁, I put together a short video showing the madness of rush hour on the subway in Beijing.  I’m doing my best to provide subtitles that are readable in the video, but it can be difficult at times, for example when I give you a whole sentence in Chinese.  The point of the subtitles is to help you SEE the 汉字 and the 拼音 while you LISTEN to what I say.  My pronunciation is not perfect.  Actually, it is far from it, but I manage to get my point across when communicating here.  Of course, to really learn the vocabulary, you should take the list I provide here on the blog and study that.  If you have any suggestions for how to improve the video posts, please feel free to leave a comment here.  I appreciate constructive criticism!  Ok, that’s enough rambling.  Here’s the latest video!

Very good film, lots of keen Chinese learners would be interested in going to BJ and giving the subway a try. However, the demo of the Chinese sentences and expressions lacks a bit of tonal accuracy. But I had fun, and thank you!
