After a reader’s suggestion I will show to you two more dialogues that could be useful.

If you like to visit one of our islands, you may have to travel by ship. So, how can you ask for a ticket in this case?

You: Καλημέρα! (kaleemera)/ Καλησπέρα (kaleespera)/ Γεία σας!(Gia sas) Good morning! / Good evening! / Hello!
Clerk: Same greeting in response, τι μπορώ να  κάνω για εσάς ;(ti boro na kano gia esas) …., what can I do for you?
You: Θα ήθελα να ένα εισητήριο για Πάρο παρακαλώ (Tha eethela ena eiseeteerio gia Paro parakalo) I would like a ticket  to Paros
Clerk: Έχετε όχημα (ehete ohema) Do you have a vehicle
You: Ναι έχω αυτοκίνητο (ne eho aftokeeneeto) Yes I have a car
Clerk: Τι αυτοκίνητο έχετε κύριε;(ti aftokeeneeto ehete keerie) What car do you have sir?
You: Έχω ένα τετράπορτο Volkswagen Passat (eho ena tetraporto…. ) I have a 4-doors Volkswagen Passat
Clerk: Μήπως έχετε ρυμουλκούμενο;(meepos ehete reemoolkoomeno) Do you carry any trailer with you?
You: Ναι, ένα τροχόσπιτο.(nai ena trohospito) Yes a caravan.
Clerk: Ποσό είναι το μήκος του;(poso eene to meekos too) How long is it?
You: Περίπου5 μέτρα.(peripou pende metra) It is around 5 meters long.
Clerk: Ταξιδεύετε μόνος; Υπάρχουν άλλοι επιβάτες;(taxidevete monos; Eeparhoon alee epivates;). Are you travelling alone? Are there more passengers
You: 2 ενήλικοι με μένα και δυο παιδιά (dyo eneeleekie me mena ke dyo pedia). 2 adults including me and 2 children
Clerk: Θα θέλατε καμπίνα ή τουριστική θέση;(tha thelate kambina ee tooristikee thesee;). Would you like a cabin or tourist sit.
You: Τουριστική θα ηταν καλά.(tooristikee tha eetan kala). Tourist would be fine
Clerk: Θέλετε εισητίριο με επιστροφή;(thelete eiseeteerio me epistrofee) Would you like α round trip?
You: Ναι. (ne). Yes.
Clerk: Για ποιές ημερομήνίες παρακαλώ(gia pies eemeromeenies parakalo;). What are the dates please
You: Αναχώρηση στις 29/7 και επιστροφή στις 30/8. (anahoreesee 29/7 kai epistrofee stees 30/8) Departure at 29/7 and return at 30/8
Clerk: Αυτό κάνει 210 ευρώ(afto kanee 210 euro). This costs 210 euros.
You: Οριστε.(oriste). Here you are.
Clerk: Ευχαριστούμε, καλό ταξίδι(efharistoume,kalo taxidi ). We thank you, have a nice trip.
You: Ευχαριστώ.(efharisto). Thank you.

 

The second dialog can be used for shopping some clothes maybe or souvenirs.

 

You: Καλημέρα! (kaleemera)/ Καλησπέρα (kaleespera)/ Γεία σας!(Gia sas) Good morning! / Good evening! / Hello!
Seller: Same greeting in response
Είδα αυτό το μπλουζάκι στην βιτρίνα σας και θα ήθελα να το δοκιμάσω.(eeda afto to bloozaki stee vitrina sas ke tha eethela na to dokimaso) I have seen this T-shirt in your shop window and I would like to try it.
Seller: Φυσικά. Σε τι χρώμα το θέλετε;(feesika. Se ti xroma to thelete;). Of course. In which color would you like it
You: Σε άσπρο παρακαλώ.(Se aspro parakalo). White please.
Seller: Το medium πρέπει να σας κάνει. Ορίστε. Τα δοκιμαστήρια είναι εκεί πέρα.(To medium prepee na sas kanee. Oriste. Ta dokimasteeria eene ekee pera). The medium size should fit you well. Here it is.  There are the dressing rooms.
You: …αυτό είναι λίγο μικρό/μεγάλο για μένα.(afto eene ligo mikro/megalo gia mena). …..this is a bit small/big for me.
Seller: Κανένα πρόβλημα, θα σας δώσω το large/small.(kanena provleema. Tha sas doso to large/small). No problem I will give the large/small size.
You: …αυτό είναι τέλειο. Πόσο κάνει; (afto eene teleeo.Poso kanee;). …. this fits me perfectly. How much does it cost?
Seller: Αυτό έχει 20 ευρώ.(Afto ehee 20 evro). This cost 20 euros.
You: Θα ήθελα να πάρω άλλα 4 για τους φίλους μου. Θα μου κάνετε μια καλύτερη τιμή;(Tha eethela na paro ala 4 gia toos filoos moo. Tha moo kanete mia kaleeteree teemee;). I would like to have 4 more for my friends. Could you give me a better price?
Seller: Χμμμ αυτό δεν είναι εύκολο…Αλλά εντάξει, 18 το καθένα. Δεν μπορώ καλύτερα. (Afto den eene efkolo. Ala endaxee. 18 to kathena). Hmm that’s not easy…But ok, 18 each. Can’t do better.
You: Ωραία! Θα τα πάρω (Orea!Tha ta paro) That’s nice! I will buy them.
