Cardinal Numbers: 1-20 Posted by Nitya on Sep 14, 2017 in Hindi Language
I have been watching a lot of Bollywood songs lately and it set me thinking about how songs possess the ability to be great teachers. There are so many catchy lyrics and tunes that have helped students learn difficult academic concepts.
Hence, I thought I’d use a Bollywood tune to introduce counting in Hindi, or हिंदी गिनती (Hindi ginati. I’ll begin with a song from the film Tezaab. This toot-tapping song, featuring a bubbly Madhuri Dixit, took the audiences by storm and to this day, remains immensely popular.

Ek do teen chaar paanch chhe saat aath nau das gyarah baarah terah …

This brings us to counting numbers or cardinal numbers in Hindi. We will look at numbers 1-20.
