Poem in Hindi – Bachpan Posted by on Mar 26, 2014 in Hindi Language

Today, I will share a Hindi poem on childhood (बचपन – Childhood). The poet is describing the advantages of Childhood and how our life changes as soon as it is gone.

Below is the poem in Devanagari fonts (Hindi) with the literal translation in English. I hope that you will try to comprehend the poem with the given explanation. So, here it is.

कविता (Kavita – Poem) : बचपन (Bachpan – Childhood)
(Jagdish Vyom)

By snatching away the toy, we shared the sadness,
we have gone far, very far from the childhood.

Have not learned to read well,
did not know how to change our clothes yet
have been subjected to carry such heavy school bags
we have gone far, very far from our childhood.

The learning and teaching of English words
finishing assignment after coming home
doing homework make us breathless
we have gone far, very far from our childhood.

Mother doesn’t help to get into sleep
Grandmother won’t tell stories
the life is teasing and became a prison
we have gone far, very far from our childhood.

Subject which are so difficult that they make us perplex
day and night of reading-learning of books
even then getting less marks
we have gone far, very far from our childhood.
