(Bhawani Prasad Mishra)

I am uncultured because I walk barefoot
I am uncultured because I live in the dust
I am uncultured because I work hard and produce crops
I am uncultured because I sing loud on the beat

You are cultured because you fly in the sky
You are cultured because you bomb ground into fire

You are cultured because your store is full of wheat
You are cultured because you can read book aloud
You are cultured because you can afford clothes
You are cultured because your mouth is stained with blood

You are concerned of my backward condition
You think that we copy your way
I don’t want to wear off my uncultured outlook
I wrap my outlook tightly
