Como convidar alguém para sair, em inglês Posted by on May 25, 2010 in Intermediário

Hey, there! How’s it going?

Vamos aprender e revisar como convidar alguém para sair em inglês. Suponhamos que você queira convidar alguém para ir ao cinema:

How would you like to go to the movies tonight?
How about going to the movies tonight?
Let’s go to the movies tonight.
Why don’t we go to the movies tonight?
Do you feel like going to the movies tonight?

A pessoa pode recusar:

Thanks for asking, but I don’t think so.
I really don’t feel like it tonight.
Not tonight. Maybe some other time.
No. I’m really not in the mood.

Daí você insiste convidando para ir a um novo restaurante chinês:

Then what about trying that new Chinese restaurant?
Would you like to go to that new Chinese restaurant instead?
Then why don’t we just go to that new Chinese restaurant?

Realmente, a pessoa não está afim e pode dizer:

No. If you don’t mind, I’m just going to stay home tonight.
No. I want to stay home for a change.
No. I want to get to bed early tonight.
No. I’d rather stay home and watch TV.

Porém, a resposta pode ser positiva:

I’d enjoy that.
I’d like that very much.
That sounds like a good idea.
I’d love to.

Você sugere um horário:

I’ll pick you up around seven.
How does 7:00 sound?
Would 7:00 be ok?
Let’s say about 7:00?
Seven-ish?

E a pessoa fecha a conversa concordando:

Fine. See you later then.
That’s fine. I’m looking forward to it.
OK, see you then.
That’s OK with me.

And that’s a wrap, people! See y’all next time!
