Os dois verbos to título do post querem dizer emprestar mas são usados de forma diferente. Check it out!

To borrow (borrowed)

Significa pegar emprestado (de alguém). Alguns exemplos:

Can I borrow your calculator? – Posso pegar emprestado sua calculadora?
I borrowed a dictionary from Keith. – Peguei um dicionário emprestado com o Keith.
We borrowed $20,000 to start up the business. – Pegamos $20.000 emprestado para começar nosso negócio.

To lend (lent – lent)

Emprestar (a alguém)

Can you lend me your calculator? – Você pode me emprestar sua calculadora?
Jack lent his car to us for the weekend. – Jack emprestou seu carro para nós durante o fim de semana.
The bank won’t lend you any money without collaterals. – O banco não vai te emprestar dinheiro sem garantias.
