Ciao a tutti! Lunedi il 21 febbraio è la giornata internazionale della lingua madre!

La giornata internazionale della lingua madre è una celebrazione indetta dall’UNESCO per il 21 febbraio di ogni anno per promuovere la madrelingua, diversità linguistica e culturale e il multilinguismo. 

Il 21 febbraio è stato scelto per ricordare il 21 febbraio 1952, quando diversi studenti bengalesi dell’Università di Dacca furono uccisi dalle forze di polizia del Pakistan (che allora comprendeva anche il Bangladesh) mentre protestavano per il riconoscimento del bengalese come lingua ufficiale.

International Mother Language Day is a UNESCO celebration on February 21 each year to promote mother tongue, linguistic and cultural diversity, and multilingualism.

February 21 was chosen to commemorate February 21, 1952, when several Bengali students from the University of Dhaka were killed by the police forces of Pakistan (which then also included Bangladesh) while protesting for the recognition of Bengali as an official language.

Per la Giornata 2021 l’UNESCO propone il tema “Fostering multilingualism for inclusion in education and society.”

For the 2021 Day, UNESCO proposes the theme “Fostering multilingualism for inclusion in education and society.”
