Sorry, it’s been for a while since I wrote last time. Hope everyone is eager to learn this topic today as I am sure you guys are hungry for a new Japanese material to learn. ๐ I am here to give you a quick lesson on some useful expression that you would want to master right away! So, read on~
Today’s topic is all about “too much of ~” expression.
In Japanese, we often use ~ใใใใ๏ผใใ้ใ๏ผ, which means ” too much of ~”. Let’s learn some of these by examples like the ones below.
eating too much = tabe sugi, ใในใใใ๏ผ้ฃใน้ใ๏ผ
drinking too much = nomi sugi, ใฎใฟใใใ๏ผ้ฃฒใฟ้ใ๏ผ
studying too much = benkyo no shisugi, ในใใใใใฎใใใใใ๏ผๅๅผทใฎใ้ใ๏ผ
running too much = hashi ri sugi, ใฏใใใใใ๏ผ่ตฐใ้ใ๏ผ
joking around too much = fuzake sugi, ใตใใใใใ๏ผใตใใใใ๏ผ
going too far = yari sugi, ใใใใใ๏ผใใ้ใ๏ผ
reading too much = yomi sugi, ใใฟใใใ๏ผ่ชญใฟ้ใ๏ผ
Here are some examples how you can apply the above expressions in sentences.
You ate too much today.
Anata kyo tabe sugi dayo.
ใใชใ๏ผใใใใฏใใในใใใ ใใ
ใใชใ๏ผไปๆฅ๏ผ้ฃใน้ใใ ใใ
I drank too much last night, so I am not feeling well.
Kinou no yoru nomisugite kibunga warui.
ใใฎใใฎใใใใฎใฟใใใฆใใใถใใใใใใใ
ๆจๆฅใฎๅคใ้ฃฒใฟ้ใใฆใๆฐๅใๆชใใ
I studied too much this morning, and my eyes hurt.
Kesa benkyo shisugite mega itai.
ใใใในใใใใใใใใใฆใใใใใใใใ
ไปๆ๏ผๅๅผทใ้ใใฆใ็ฎใใ็ใใ
I ran too much, and my legs hurt.
Hashirisugite ashiga itai.

Be careful not to go too far.
Yari sugi naiyลni kiotsukete.
ใใใใใชใใใใใซใใใใคใใฆใ
ใใ้ใใชใใใใซใๆฐใใไปใใฆใญใ
I read too much of the sad news, and now I feel depressed.
Kana shii nyลซsu o yomisugite, gakkari shiteiru.
ใใชใใใใใฅใผในใใใใฟใใใฆใใใฃใใใใใฆใใใ
ๆฒใใใใใฅใผในใใ่ชญใฟ้ใใฆใใใฃใใใใใฆใใใ
By looking at the examples above, I know most of these sounds so negative.. ย but I guess too much of something is not so great most of the time. Hope you mastered this expression today!
