Famous Comedian in Korea – Kang Ho-dong Posted by on Jun 2, 2014 in Uncategorized

One of the best Korean television comedy show hosts is Kang Ho-dong.  Actually, he became famous through traditional Korean wrestling competition because he beat previous champion who won ten times in the competition.  Kang Ho-dong has strong leadership, so he can lead people to be brilliant in a show.  One of his most famous TV program was ‘One Night, Two Days.’

Kang, Ho-dong graduated from Masan High School. After graduating from high school, he started participating actively in professional Korean wrestling matches. Early in his wrestling career, he lost many matches. However, on July, 1989, at the 44th national championships, the unseeded Kang managed to defeat the legendary man (who was champion 10 times) and went on to win the tournament, which marked the start of his successful career. Known as ‘Devil on the sand’ for his arrogant and fearless demeanor, he went on to win the Baekdujangsa Championship 7 times and the CheonHaJangSa Championship 5 times, he was very widely recognized as the youngest ever Cheonhajangsa title holder and as a strong man.

The video below is ‘One Night, Two Days’ with English subtitle.  Some other countries made the same TV show with their own stars. I hope you enjoy watching and learning some Korean.  I believe that when you are interested in watching Korean TV program, you would learn Korean language and culture easily.
