Today you will learn the last meaning of “Only” in Korea I prepared for you. This is very high frequency Korean use when they want to express in negative way. In positive way, they will say I only need potatoes/감자만 필요해요, but in negative way I only have potatoes/감자 밖에 없어. The grammar is “Noun + 밖에 (없다/못하다)”. Please see more examples using 밖에 below.

I have only ten dollars bill/ 10달라 짜리 밖에 없어요/sip dalla jjari park ae eop eo yo.

I have only 5 minutes for you/ 5분 밖에 없어요/ o bun park ae eop eo yo.

I can speak only English/ 영어 밖에 못해요/ yeong eo park ae mo tae yo.

I can only go jogging every morning/ 아침에 조깅 밖에 못해요/ a chim ae jo king park ae mo tae yo.

She is only been with the company two years/ 그녀는 이 회사에 온지 2년 밖에 안 됐어요/ gu nyeo nun e hae sa ae on ji e nyeon park ae an dae sseo yo.
