This is long overdue, but I figured we should go over Latin greetings. This list is not a complete list of greetings. If you want to know more check out the Byki Latin series.

Hi – Heus

Hey friend! (to a male) – Heus amīce

Hey friend! (to a female) –Heus amīca

Good morning/Good evening/Welcome – Salvē

Good night/See you later/Good bye – Valē

How are you? – Quid agis?

I’m fine, thanks – Valeō

And you? – Et tū?

Good – Bene

So-so – Admodum bene

Thanks – Grātias

Thanks a lot – Grātias multas

You’re welcome – Non necessarias

What’s new? – Quid novī?

Nothing much – Nullum gravis

Excuse me (to ask something) – Mihi Ignōsce

Excuse me (to pass by) – Mihi Excusā
