Hello to all lovers of Latin and Ancient world!

I have been honored with the gift of being the new blogger of this site ๐Ÿ™‚ So itย  is a pleasure to introduce myself to all of you.

My name is Leire, I am a 25 year old girl from Pamplona (northern Spain). I grew up, studied and enjoyed some of the best moments of my life in that welcoming city. Since I was very young I was drawn to the study of history, languages and humanities. At High School they started teaching us Classic Culture and Latin when we were 15 years old and that was my first contact with this issue that concerns us. I completely fell in love with Latin, and of course I also loved studying anything related to the Ancient world.

When I was 18 it came time to decide what and where to study in College and my choice was: History in Barcelona. So I moved to this sunny and never sleeping city on the shores of the Mediterranean. Barcelona is a wonderful city in which to pursue your hobbies, especially those related to culture. Here I have learned a lot, travelled to many archaeological sites from all eras and have aroused more curiosity if possible.

Writing in this blog I hope to share some of the things I have learned and learn from you and, above all, I hope to spend good times writing about those Ancient people and culture that structured what we know today as Western tradition.

Now, let’s start posting!

Ave atque vale (goodbye!)

  6. Ellen:

You took over just in time to wish me a happy birthday! Looking forward to your posts. Like Jose from Argentina, I would love to hear more about ancient Latin songs.

Also, I am making a piece of jewelry for donation to a local elementary school’s annual fundraising auction, and am incorporating their Latin motto. I’ll be starting work on that in early January, so I’ll probably be back with some questions.

    Thanks for running this blog!
