The healthy Norwegian lifestyle Posted by kari on Aug 23, 2010
I have been meaning to write a post about this for a long time now. Uten tvil (Without a doubt) one of the first things I notice when I come to Norway is how sunn (healthy) most people seem to look. I´m pretty sure every day I have a deja vu experience-I see someone, man…
Norwegian Hospitality Posted by kari on Aug 19, 2010
I continue to be impressed and thankful for Norwegian gjestfrihet (hospitality). I really haven´t experienced anything like it. I made contact with a woman with whom I have mutual friends and colleagues from a previous job and from college. She lives here in Tromsø and she´s very familiar with where I come from. It´s times…

The Norwegian arbeidsdag (work day)…
Are Norwegians cold people? Posted by kari on Aug 2, 2010
I´ve been asked many times if Norwegians are cold people-you know, hard to warm up to. I´ve also been told by many people that this is the case. I have found that the answer to this question depends on where in Norway you are. I also don´t have a perfectly clear answer because when I…
Norway´s Environmental Conscience Posted by kari on Jul 29, 2010
Norway is by far the cleanest country I´ve ever been too. Sure, the population density is low, but nonetheless, staten (the state-government) enforces strong regler (rules) regarding taking care of the environment. It also helps that the Norwegian people seem to really respect these rules. I don´t think I´ve seen any hundskit (dog poop) på…
