Calling a Norwegian company for kundeservice [KOONNehserviss] (customer support)? Although the (wo)man at the other end of the line probably speaks good English, (s)he might just give you that extra amount of attention if you do speak Norwegian! 🙂 Here are a few phrases to keep you going.

Trykk 1 for meny, trykk 2 for kundeservice. (Press 1 for menu, press 2 for customer support.)
Hei! Jeg heter Ola McKenzie. Kan jeg få snakke med kundeservice? (Hi! I’m Ola McKenzie. Could I talk to customer support, please?)
Et øyeblikk. (Just a second.)
Hallo, det er kundeservice. Hva kan jeg hjelpe deg med? (Hello, this is customer support. How may I help you?)
(I’m calling because I’ve got problems with my phone/computer.)
Kan du beskrive problemet nærmere? (Could you please describe the problem more in detail?)
(Yes, you see, I’m unable to print/send SMSs/go online.)
Skjønner. Jeg setter deg over til IT-avdelinga. Et lite øyeblikk. (I see. I’ll transfer you to our IT department. Just a second.)
Hallo, det er IT-avdelinga. Hva er problemet ditt? (Hello, this is the IT department. What is your problem?)
Jo, PIN-koden min har sluttet å fungere. (Well, my PIN code has stopped working.)
Akkurat, ja. Har du et kundenummer? (Oh, I see. Have you got a customer code?)
Skal vi se… Det er tre, fire, syv, to, åtte, null, null. (Let’s see… It’s three, four, seven, two, eight, zero, zero.)
Kjempegreier. (Excellent. I’ll see if I find you in our database. It will probably take some time…)
Har du funnet noe? (Have you found anything?)
(Yes, the problem is due to a system error. I’ll mail you a new code. What is your address?)
Adressa mi er: Fjellveien 19, 4040 Ytrefjord. (My address is:)
Fantastisk. (Splendid. You’ll hear from us in a few days, Ola!)
Greitt. Takk for hjelpa! (Okay. Thanks for the help!)
Bare hyggelig! Ha en strålende dag. (Happy to help you! Have a wonderful day.)
