I have so many books with Polish poems for my kids! Every day we try to read a new poem…and try to memorize it:) Although it may be a little tricky sometimes…One of my favorite poems is “Czarna krowa” by Natalia Usenko. Today I decided to share it with you!
Czarna Krowa
The Black Cow
The black cow with claret dots was wandering on the trail. In front she had a big head, at the back she had a tail! She stopped at the puddle and bent her head – One of her eyes was yellow, the other purple! She outstretched huge wings (they were on her back settled), She flew towards the clouds, crying ‘TITTLE-TATTLE!!!’ From the top of the highest tree she was diving, And straight from the sky vanilla clouds biting… Just don’t tell me that a cow cannot fly, Because everything can happen at the end of the summer!

My name is Kasia Scontsas. I grew near Lublin, Poland and moved to Warsaw to study International Business. I have passion for languages: any languages! Currently I live in New Hampshire. I enjoy skiing, kayaking, biking and paddle boarding. My husband speaks a little Polish, but our daughters are fluent in it! I wanted to make sure that they can communicate with their Polish relatives in our native language. Teaching them Polish since they were born was the best thing I could have given them!
I have been writing about learning Polish language and culture for Transparent Language’s Polish Blog since 2010.
