Have you tried steak tartare from the Polish menu? Posted by on Nov 12, 2021 in Food, Traditions

If you dined at traditional Polish restaurants, you probably know that Steak Tartare is the King of Polish appetizers! It is typically a special or delicacy and often described as one of the most delicious items on the Polish menu.

Tartare is not only delicious beef, but also a variety of additions that will allow you to fully enjoy the taste. You can opt for finely chopped marinated mushrooms and pickled cucumbers, as well as chopped onion or even chopped sun dried tomatoes. The dish is finished with raw egg yolk, which gives the dish a real depth. You decide how to eat it!

While many are apprehensive about sampling tartare because it comes raw, it is one of those foods that you simply have to try before you really understand why it is so popular!

There are many reasons Poles, and not only, love this dish.

  • First, let’s just say, it is completely safe to eat!
  • It is filled with so many surprising flavors, depends what you choose to mix it with. It is absolutely delicious.
  • It is healthy and easy to digest. Did you know that it is actually more difficult to digest cooked meat than raw meat?Raw tartare may be the way to go if you have digestion issues!
  • Many people love eating raw beef for the health benefits and all of the nutrients that stay in these meats when they are served raw (did you know that when meat is cooked, many of the important enzymes found in that meat are killed off)
  • Vitamin B in raw beef is just a healthy addition to delicious snack!
  • Raw meat is also full of vitamin C (it is however killed as soon as the meat is cooked)
  • Finally, trying tartare opens your eyes to more food options that you may never known were out there before! It may be just the beginning to trying out some truly delectable dishes that you never thought of tasting before.

Have you had steak tartare before? It is definitely one of my favorite dishes. My husband was a little apprehensive about trying it for the first time…but he absolutely loved it after getting a little lesson on how to assemble and eat it at one of our favorite restaurants in Warsaw!

Yum!
