Numbers from 11 to 99 Posted by Anna on Jan 12, 2010
A couple of weeks ago I promised you we would take a look at “big” numbers, in Polish of course. And I think today would be a good time to do. Let’s start with today’s date: January 12, 2010. In Polish: dwunastego stycznia, dwa tysiące dziesiątego roku. Yeah, it’s a mouthful, I know… But unfortunately…
Reading in Polish – translations or “native” books? Posted by Anna on Jan 9, 2010
It’s styczeń (January) now, dziewiąty (ninth) to be exact. Do you know where your postanowienia noworoczne (New Year’s resolutions) are? Polish Expat Bloggers Posted by Anna on Dec 28, 2009
It always amazes me how many Poles in recent years have packed up and moved to the UK and Ireland. Sometimes I feel like the last Polish person left alive who hasn’t even properly visited the “islands”, because no, transferring between Heathrow and Gatwick doesn’t count, or does it? I will remedy this glaring oversight…
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Wesołych Świąt! Posted by Anna on Dec 24, 2009
Wigilia, Wigilia i po Wigilii… How are your stomachs? Suffering from heartburn and indigestion? If not, that wasn’t a proper Polish Christmas Eve then. If yes, congratulations, and don’t worry, the pain is normal, especially after eating karp. And oh yeah, you shouldn’t be able to dig yourself out from the mountains of gift wrap…
