Prayers in Polish and English Posted by Kasia on Sep 29, 2016 in Culture, Religion, Uncategorized
Recently I had few questions from readers about prayers in Polish. Most of you asked where can you find Polish pronunciation of them. I wasn’t able to find it anywhere, so in today’s post I have few prayers in Polish and English with the pronunciation for you. Please let me know if you have questions:)
Znak Krzyża świętego
W imię Ojca i Syna, i Ducha Świętego. Amen.
The Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Ojcze Nasz
Chleba naszego powszedniego daj nam dzisiaj. I odpuść nam nasze winy, jako i my odpuszczamy naszym winowajcom. Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Amen.
The Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God pray for us sinners, now and in the hour of our death. Amen.
Chwała Ojcu…
Chwała Ojcu i Synowi i Duchowi Świętemu. Amen.
The Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Skład Apostolski
Wierzę w Boga, Ojca wszechmogącego, Stworzyciela nieba i ziemi. I w Jezusa Chrystusa, Syna Jego jedynego, Pana naszego. Zstąpił do piekieł, trzeciego dnia zmartwychwstał. Stamtąd przyjdzie sądzić żywych i umarłych. Wierzę w Ducha Świętego, Święty Kościół powszechny, świętych obcowanie, grzechów odpuszczenie, ciała zmartwychwstanie, żywot wieczny. Amen.
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
O mój Jezu
O mój Jezu, przebacz nam nasze grzechy, zachowaj nas od ognia piekielnego, zaprowadź wszystkie dusze do nieba i dopomóż szczególnie tym, którzy najbardziej potrzebują Twojego miłosierdzia
O My Jesus
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.

My name is Kasia Scontsas. I grew near Lublin, Poland and moved to Warsaw to study International Business. I have passion for languages: any languages! Currently I live in New Hampshire. I enjoy skiing, kayaking, biking and paddle boarding. My husband speaks a little Polish, but our daughters are fluent in it! I wanted to make sure that they can communicate with their Polish relatives in our native language. Teaching them Polish since they were born was the best thing I could have given them! I have been writing about learning Polish language and culture for Transparent Language’s Polish Blog since 2010.

I’m so disappointed in myself! I remembered my prayers in Polish for many years in my adulthood! Then slowly– I began to forget! Darn!
Quartus:
Hello there,
Beautiful prayers. Someone gave me a Polish prayer card for św. KRZYSZTOF. (St Christopher?).
Do you have a translation for this?
MODLITWA KIEROWCY
Boże, daj mi pewną rękę

And then ends with:
towarzyszyły mi na zawsze.
AMEN
MANY THANKS,
Quartus

Thank you so much! I’ve been wanting to learn Polish and I thought it would be great to start with the prayers. I’ve been having troubles finding them along with pronunciation. I’ll be using the video a lot! Thank you 😀

Hello Kasia
Just found your blogsite. I’m half Polish on my dad’s side and German ( and maybe a wee bit o’ Irish ) on my mom’s side. I only know a few words and phrases of Polish but I’m always trying to learn more. Here’s to learning!
Kas Pelc:
Kasia, would you happen to have a Polish translation of “The Flame of Love” prayer? Thank you.
Alexandra:
Thank you Kasia! My mother did not teach me Polish when I was younger, so I took it in college! The Polish language is one of the greatest gifts you can give to your girls!
Joann:
Kasia
Could you also do a translation for Hail Holy Queen?
Halina Holman by:
Kasia could you translate the Prayer for England. It is said after Mass. Many Polish people have asked for it to be translated? I speak Polish fluently but would be nervous about the written word.bAlsovInpublsh something called Encouragement but although it goes all over the world it hardly goes to Poland it could do with a Polish version.Prayer for England.
Oh Blessed virgin Mary Mother of God and our most gentle Queen and Mother…….
You can find Encouragement on The Host Apostolate Web site. Blessings and thank you for your work.
Halina Holman.
Stan Abramski (Abramczyk):
This is a wonderful site. I had believed that I knew the Lord’s Prayer and Hail Mary all these years and reading this has enlightened me to the fact that I had somehow consistently left out the following:
i my odpuszczamy naszym winowajcom.
Thank you!
