Visit to an eye doctor is usually planned and not often an emergency…If it happens that you are in Poland and need to check your eyes, it may be helpful to know few basic phrases to explain what bothers you:)

eye doctor – okulista

do you offer free eye tests? – czy oferują państwo bezpłatne badania wzroku?

I’d like to have an eye test, please – chciałbym umówić się na badanie wzroku

I need a new …- potrzebuję …

pair of glasses – nową parę okularów

pair of reading glasses – nową parę okularów do czytania

glasses’ case – nowego etui na okulary

could I order some more contact lenses? – czy mogę zamówić więcej zestawów soczewek kontaktowych?

the frame on these glasses is broken – oprawka tych okularów jest zepsuta

can you repair it? – czy może ją pan/pani naprawić?

do you sell sunglasses? – czy ma pan/pani okulary przeciwsłoneczne?

how much are these designer frames? – ile kosztują te oprawki designerskie?

my eyesight’s getting worse – mój wzrok się pogarsza

do you wear contact lenses? – czy nosi pan/pani soczewki kontaktowe?

are you nearsighted or farsighted? – jest pan/pani krótkowidzem czy dalekowidzem?

could you read out the letters on the chart, starting at the top? – czy może pan/pani przeczytać litery na tablicy zaczynając od góry?

could you close your left eye, and read this with your right? – czy może pan/pani zamknąć lewe oko i przeczytać to prawym?

do you do hearing tests? – czy wykonuje pan/pani badania słuchu?
