Walentynki, Walentynki! Posted by on Feb 13, 2018 in Culture, Phrases

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day! It is a time of love, beautiful words, flowers and chocolate! Every year, countless couples across the world celebrate the day with their loved ones. In Poland people indulge in romantic dates, shower each other with roses, chocolate or various heart-shaped gifts, and exchange confessions of love (usually written in poems on a Valentine’s card). The letter is the most popular practice – even in grade school kids sneak cards and usually a piece of chocolate into their crush’s belongings. It is also the day when the flower mail notes the most business.

Here are few ideas for the poems and sentences written in these Valentine’s cards!

The best and most beautiful things in the world can’t be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart. As my love for you…

Najlepszych i najpiękniejszych rzeczy na świecie nie można ujrzeć czy nawet dotknąć – muszą one zostać poczute sercem. Tak jak moja miłość do Ciebie…

I love my life
Because it gave me you
I love you
Because you are my life

Kocham moje życie
Bo dało mi Ciebie
Kocham Ciebie
Bo jesteś moim życiem

Roses are red, violets are blue,
I made this card just for you.
It’s not the neatest, it wouldn’t pass a test,
But it’s made with love – that makes it the best.

Róże są czerwone, fiołki niebieskie,
Tę kartkę zrobiłem specjalnie dla Ciebie.
Nie jest najładniejsza, nie zdałaby testu,
Ale jest zrobiona z miłością – to czyni ją najlepszą.

We began as strangers.
We became friends.
We became one with each other.
We remain as one forever.

Zaczęliśmy jako obcy.
Staliśmy się przyjaciółmi.
Staliśmy się jednym.
Pozostaniemy jednością na zawsze.

I want to wake up to see you by my side, and I want to feel you, next to me, before I go to sleep. I want to share every moment with you. I love you.

Chcę się budzić widząc Ciebie u swego boku, i chcę Cię czuć obok siebie, kiedy zasypiam. Chcę dzielić każdy moment z Tobą. Kocham Cię.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
