Oi! Tudo bem?

Today let’s start a series of posts with colloquial Brazilian Portuguese expressions. These expressions are not usually found in dictionaries or textbooks so I’ve decided to share them with you guys.

E não pára por aí! I also recorded them with their usual conversational intonation so you can practice at home too! Aproveite!

Acabou? – Are you done?
Acelera! – Step on it! Get a move on!
A conclusão é… – The bottom line is…
Aconteça o que acontecer! – Come what may!
Acredite se quiser! – Believe it or not!
Adivinha o quê! – Guess what!
Aguenta firme aí! – Hang in there!
A propósito… – By the way…
Aqui está! – Here you are!
As coisas estão se encaixando. – Things are falling into place.
Até aqui tudo bem. – So far so good.
A vida é assim mesmo! – That’s life!
À vista ou cartão? – Cash or charge?
Bem feito! – It serves you right!
Cara ou coroa? – Heads or tails?
Com certeza! – Definitely!
Como é que é mesmo? – Come again?
Como é que pode? – How come?
Com o passar do tempo… – As time goes by…
Contenha-se! / Controle-se! – Pull yourself together!
Conseguiu? – Any luck?
Cuide da sua vida! – Mind your own business!
Dá pra perceber! – You can tell!
Daqui pra frente… – From now on…
Dá uma olhada! – Check it out!
Dá um tempo! – Give me a break!
De agora em diante… – From now on…
Deixa pra lá! – Forget it!
De jeito nenhum! – No way!
