It is very important in Portuguese not to confuse the verbs Vir to come and Ir to go.
It is incorrect to say “Vou aqui de novo a semana que vem”, you would need to be sure to say “Veio…”
By the same token, be careful not to translate in your head phrases such as “I’m coming to see you in Búzios” as the literal translation is incorrect. Instead, you would say “Vou visitar você em Búzios”, which is literally translated as “I’m going to visit you in Búzios.”
It is a minor point, but an error that will certainly elicit a correction from any Brazilian within earshot.
