Тем не ме́нее

Тем не менее is similar to “nevertheless” or “however.” It often comes at the beginning of the sentence and, unlike similar phrases in English, does not need to be set off by commas.

• Поэ́тому о́чень сло́жно примени́ть к оце́нке труда́ чино́вника те же крите́рии, кото́рые применя́ются, наприме́р, в отноше́нии ме́неджера компа́нии. Тем не ме́нее стреми́ться к э́тому на́до.
  (So it’s very difficult to apply the same criteria to evaluating a public servant’s performance as are applied, for example, towards a company manager. However, that should be the goal.)

С одно́й стороны́… с друго́й стороны́…

This saying has two parts and is equivalent to “on the on hand — on the other hand.” Сторона́ literally translates to “side.” These introductory phrases are set off by commas.

• С одно́й стороны́, га́лстук ― э́то всё-таки́ не́который конформи́зм, но с друго́й стороны́, всё-таки́ теа́тр же.
  On the one hand, wearing a tie is somewhat conformist, but on the other hand, it is theater, after all.

Одна́ко

Однако is similar to но, but it’s a bit more formal or bookish. It does not require a comma.

• Опера́ции по перево́ду де́нег ме́жду физи́ческими ли́цами соверша́лись ба́нками всегда́. Одна́ко э́то всегда́ был непри́быльный и обремени́тельный для них би́знес.
  Banks have always made transferred money between physical persons. However, this service has always been unprofitable and cumbersome for them.

Несмотря́ на э́то

You may remember “несмотря́ на” as “in spite of.”  In that sense, it may be followed by the accusative case. More generally speaking, though, несмотря на это can mean “despite this.”

• Тепе́рь пацие́нты месяца́ми принима́ют «кокте́йль» из сильне́йших лека́рств (…). И несмотря́ на э́то, боле́знь ка́ждый год уно́сит бо́льше жи́зней, чем все други́е инфе́кции (…).
  Nowadays patients take a “cocktail” of very strong medicines for months (…). And despite this, the disease claims more lives every year than all other infections (…).
