Mi Banda Favorita (My Favorite Band) Posted by on Nov 19, 2020 in Uncategorized

I love listening to music. I listen to music all day, every day). I really enjoyed Laura’s recent post about music and how to talk about it in Spanish (click here if you missed it). It inspired me to try my best to write up a post in Spanish about mi banda favorita (my favorite band). See if you can understand the Spanish text before going on to the English translation.

Un concierto de Phish

Spanish Text

Hoy voy a presentar mi banda favorita – Phish.

He visto ellos 100 veces.

Representing Mexico at Phish Halloween in Las Vegas!

Today I am going to present my favorite band – Phish. They are from Vermont – a state in the northeastern United States. They have been a band for over 30 years. There are 4 people in the band.

They play the guitar, piano, bass, and drums. They are all incredible musicians. They play many types of music, for example rock, funk, and jazz. Their lyrics are a bit silly but I enjoy them.

They have made many albums but I prefer their live music, because they improvise a lot. Each concert is very different. I really like going to their concerts. I have seen them 100 times. Really!

I went to many states to see their concerts. The first 17 times was when it was in school. I went to those concerts with my friends and once I went with my brother.

The band parted ways for 5 years – from 2004 to 2009. They got back together in 2009 and I was very happy. During the summer, I went to many concerts with my girlfriend, my friends, and my brothers as well.

My favorite concerts were in Las Vegas and Miami. It is a lot of fun to see a Phish concert in these cities. We got engaged at their New Years concert in Miami. It was one of the best days of my life.

Last year, we saw their concerts on the beach in Mexico. For me, it was the best travel experience – my favorite band in my favorite country with my favorite friends.

We had a really fun pool party at this hotel before the concert. And after the event, we traveled around Tulum with some friends. We were tour guides for our friends.

We planned to see many more concerts this year, but they were postponed due to the pandemic. We look forward to seeing the concerts next year. We still have our tickets and will keep them!

How about you? What is your favorite band?
