Talking about the (heavy) traffic in Spanish Posted by on Aug 4, 2011 in Spanish Vocabulary

Ah, the traffic! We’ve all had a bad time during rush hour and today we’re going to learn how to speak about this en español, ¿de acuerdo?

So first check out this little dialog between two friends stuck in traffic.

(I hate driving in such heavy traffic.)
(Me too, but it’s always like this in rush hour.)
A: ¿Y si tomamos una calle lateral? Tal vez haya menos tránsito. (What if we go through a side street? Maybe traffic will be lighter.)
(Yeah, I think it’s worth trying. Do you know of any shortcuts?)
(I think so. Let’s turn right on the next corner.)

Here are some more useful sentences.

If we leave earlier we’ll beat the rush hour.

¿Conoces algún atajo?
Do you know any short cuts?
